Workshop on Educational Robotics as Learning Tool
by Dr. Amy Eguchi, General Chair of RoboCup Junior 2010 and RoboCup Trustee
RoboCup (Singapore) Association, ROBOCUP-SG, would like to invite you to the workshop on "Educational Robotics as Learning Tool" on Monday, Sep 07, 2009 at Singapore Polytechnic Graduates’ Guild (www.spgg.org.sg).
The workshop is to be conducted by our invited guest speaker, Dr. Amy Eguchi, who is the Trustee of RoboCup Federation and the general chair of RoboCup Junior 2010. Dr. Amy Eguchi is also an invited speaker for NJRC this year.
The intended audiences for the workshop include school teachers, instructors, lecturers, professors, robotists and students who are interested in educational robotics, RoboCup Junior, robotics pedagogy and trying to tie all of them together to create an understanding of how to best infuse robots into school curriculum. The workshop would help school teachers in building a successful team for RoboCup 2010 which will be hosted by Singapore. The workshop should provide an excellent learning opportunity, as well as a venue for the exchange of ideas among a highly interdisciplinary group of teachers. Workshop on “From Biological Systems to Intelligent Robots"
by Prof Huosheng Hu, Essex University, UK
Dr Hu is a Professor of Robotics at Essex University. He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief for International Journal of Automation and Computing. The Robotic Fish developed by Dr. Hu’s team has been highlighted on BBC as “the world's first autonomous robotic fish are the latest attraction at the London Aquarium” (see the BBC article).
