Educational Robotics as Learning Tool - what to teach and how to teach Dr. Amy Eguchi Assistant Professor of Education, Division of Education, Bloomfield College, USA General Chair of RoboCupJunior 2010, Trustee of RoboCup Federation
RoboCup-SG have successfully held an educational workshop on Educational Robotics as Learning Tool by the invited speaker, Dr. Amy Eguchi, the general chair of RoboCupJunior 2010 and the trustee of RoboCup Federation on Sep 7, 2009. Participates from Secondary Schools, Junior Colleges, ITE and polytechnics have enjoyed the experience sharing and hands-on session. During the workshop, Dr. Amy has shared her experience of teaching educational robotics in various subject areas as well as academic skills. Dr. Amy has also shared the EDC 120 Course Syllabus with all the educators and introduced the rules and trends of RoboCup Junior. In the afternoon session, Dr. Amy introduced the current status and trends of Educational robots in Japan and US and exchanged the views with local robotics educators. Participates have also enjoyed the hands-on session with Lego Robotic Kits and a brief demonstration with Microsoft Robotics Studio and the virtual robotics platform developed by the Advanced Robotics and Intelligent Control Centre of Singapore Polytechnic.  |
